Updating Web Content

Management of your website content

• adding new pages and posts

• updating existing web pages

• reflecting changes to your business

After your website has been launched and you have had time to review the content, you may decide you want to change some wording here and there, add more pages and posts and update some images. This is where our Content Management Service comes in. It covers this kind of work and any other updates. The cost of this service is calculated based on our hourly rates or if regular updates throughout the year are in the planning, then a contract (renewable per annum) is probably more cost effective.

Our Content Management Service is appreciated by clients that need to change their web content regularly to reflect changes in their business or products. Websites that are kept up-to-date with new content have a higher page rank and are more likely to be listed in web browser search results.

PDF Downloads, case studies, news posts and FAQs, aimed at target audiences are all worthwhile content you can consider adding to your website. If the information is there for visitors to find, this will tie in with your marketing stratagy and business development, leading to success in terms of more enquiries and orders.

Digital Marketing and Promotion

We are always willing to discuss new ideas for marketing and promotion of their business, production of digital adverts, banners and artwork for social media pages. Regular news posts and email Newsletters are a good way to attract traffic to your website and we can assist you with their production by providing graphic design and copywriting services.

Organic SEO

Search Engine
Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is made easier in part, because Orangebox Digital uses ‘search engine friendly’ platforms such as Wordpress to design websites for clients. With that said, our copywriting skills and understanding of marketing makes all the difference when adding text content to a site.

SEO Copywriting

Relevant keywords and phrases are carefully inserted in text and used in meta and image descriptions to make each web page visible to search engines and improve search results. We employ organic SEO methods to achieve the highest page rank listings possible without paid advertising.

SEO copywriting is included in any web design by Orangebox Digital. Before the design work commences, we also carry out market research to evaluate the competition and see what information is available on other websites selling the same products and offering the same services. We can then put forward our proposal and design a site that will compete favourably with competitors, create a strong brand image and upload content to attract the right customers for business success.

The new enquiries and feedback you get from customers will let you know who is browsing your website and where there is room for improvement. Website Analytical Tools (such as Google Analytics) can also be used on a website to track visitors and provide data over time. We encourage clients to set up third party accounts for these services, such as Google Analytics and Google Advertising. These services can be useful when planning your marketing strategy. Third party analytics code supplied by the client is is added to the website by us. In this way visitor stats care automatically collected and details displayed in the client’s account.

Search Engine Results

SERPs pages display organic and paid search results

SERP positions are the positions a website holds in an ‘organic search’. If your website is optimised well, ie it has unique and/or great content on web pages, it can hold the number one position when searching for your company’s name. The number one position starts and is counted from – the top result under any paid adverts.

Are Backlinks important? Yes!

A successful link profile with high-value links are still important. When it comes to backlinks, ‘quality content counts above everything else’ and you get quality backlinks by having great content people want to see and read. If a web page has useful information, is entertaining, educational, inspirational or whatever, it will gain backlinks – naturally.

Maintaining a natural backlink profile is just as important as it’s always been, at least for the time being. A natural link profile should be made up of a good mix of ‘dofollow’ and ‘nofollow’ links.

Backlinks, Content, and RankBrain

Google has a set of rules it wants webmasters and marketers to follow and while Google is definitely moving steadily towards a ‘quality content over all else’ algorithm, backlinks are still useful in achieving the desired SEO results for your website.

To get backlinks to your website, here are some ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’

The Dos first!

Aim high and publish excellent content

Include a latest news or resources section where you can publish articles that are resourceful, shareable, and interesting.

Promote the content you have published

Spread the word, promote the articles you have written with posts on selected social media platforms and specialised forums. Try submitting articles to online magazines and other websites. Send PDF versions directly by email to the people you have on your mailing list and include links in newsletters. Without promotion, your content may not reach the people who would be most interested.

Form business relationships and build up trust

You may be get backlinks from websites managed by people in other businesses and organisations that know you. It is always worth building relationships with the people you come into regular contact with.

Here’s some Don’ts!

Social profile links

Do not waste time and energy creating large numbers of social profiles for quick and easy generation of links to your websites. Better to focus on a selection of platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google) where you can regularly post content to attract followers and add backlinks relating to particular topics.

Social Bookmarks

Avoid quickly and simple placed links in social bookmarks. Anyone can create links in common social bookmarks which may lead to a ‘Bad Neighborhood’.

A ‘do-follow link’ is better than ‘nofollow’

A do-follow link is exactly the opposite of a nofollow link – and it’s a lot harder to get. This is because these kinds of backlinks come from specialised directories, articles and landing pages. They are inserted by an editor or webmaster, with no direct influence from you, ie they are not paid for ‘advertising’ links.
