As well as making sure the shop is looking good frontend, we work backend on the shop settings (payment, shipping etc). WordPress and the WooCommerce Platform
WooCommerce is built on WordPress and adds a shopping cart to your WordPress website. The WooCommerce Platform controls everything relating to your online shop and there are optional additional plugins to extend and add features.
Our latest shop websites have been built using the WooCommerce Plugin. With our experience designing sites using WordPress, it makes sense for us to choose this Platform for small to medium size shops.
With a WordPress WooCommerce site, the ‘Shop Manager’ User has WordPress ‘Editor’ permissions as well as the ability to manage all settings within WooCommerce, ie create/edit products, access settings WooCommerce settings and all WooCommerce reports.
Shopping Cart with Secure Payments
To become an online retailer, you must have a Merchant Account with a Payment Services Provider (eg Stripe, PayPal, WorldPay).
Various Payment Gateway Plugins are compatible with WooCommerce shop website making it easy to setup the shop to accept and collect secure payments. With your account details entered into the shopping cart settings (backend) and the Payment Gateway for your merchant account(s) enabled, your customers will be able to buy products make secure payments.
